The Sunshine Community Trust was founded by the Board of Directors of United Southern Bank (USB) as a means to support local community and charitable organizations through the stewardship of generously donated funds that are designated in support of beneficial community causes. As a community bank, USB has partnered with and supported community-minded organizations and causes throughout its long rich history. The Sunshine Community Trust is a natural manifestation of USB's long-held values of community involvement, community service, and philanthropic support.
2024 Lake Tech Scholarship Fund
Sunshine Community Trust has partnered with Lake Technical College to establish a scholarship fund for deserving students. This inaugural fund will provide tuition assistance to students in good academic standing as they pursue quality technical degrees and certifications.
Andre Nacaxe, Senior Vice President and Senior Trust Officer stated, "United Southern Bank is extremely honored and humbled to embark on this amazing new endeavor through the Sunshine Community Trust. As a community bank, we strive to partner with and improve our local community. We strongly believe in Lake Tech's mission and look forward to assisting them in completing it through this grant."
The over $38,000 grant will be administered and distributed by Lake Technical College based on stringent criteria. Lake Tech offers a wide variety of technical programs that range in cost from between $1000 to $6500. Many students will benefit from this grant in 2024.
